Deacon, William Arthur. The Four Jameses. Ottawa: The Graphic Publishers, Limited, 1927. First Paperback Edition. 224 pp. + advertisements. Softcover. Good+. Colourful endpapers. Edges worn and darkened with chip on the rear board's bottom corner. Spine is somewhat bruised.

Includes 3 tipped-in plates and b&w illustrations of the four Canadian poets. The image of Angus MacCaskill, "The Cape Breton Giant," includes Tom Thumb. This is a seminal volume of criticism by one of Canada's important literary figures. Most well known for Ingersoll poet James McIntyre's poem, "Ode to the Mammoth Cheese," arguably Canada' s most famous bad poem, only comparable to Vogon verse in its horridness.
